About the event
The name of the theme "Ake ake ake – A Forever Language’. It represents the resilience, adaptability and endurance of our language" we'll be spending this session out on the whenua on the edge of our wonderful repo where we'll be out investigating and plotting where some of our local medical plants are that were and are important to Māori people for their medicinal/rongoā properties. We'll also learn how these rongoā are used and what they're used for. We'll then carefully be entering these plants into @iNaturalist so we can together build a map detailing how abundant and well-stocked our hapori are for these taonga.
While on hui, there'll be opportunities for people to explore and adventure so remember to bring comfy shoes, weather-appropriate kākahu and a keen attitude for learning a bit more about our beautiful reo.
If you're interested in bringing your device to learn about using iNaturalist you're welcome to do so but we'll also have a shared device so people without their device can still participate
