About the event
Every year for 8 years, we have gathered along the shores of Oneoneroa Shoal Bay to celebrate the kuaka / bar-tailed-godwits - a champion long-distance flyer returning from their nesting grounds in Alaska.
🎉 Please join us for a day of ceremony, learning, sausage sizzle and games for all ages. The tide will afford a good view of the foraging birds! Admire the kuaka through scopes and binoculars. Meet neighbours and connect with local nature!
